BORN TO HULA HARVEST

Crack open this bottle and unleash the smells of autumn. You’ll notice pumpkin, apple, spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and sweet heat. The first taste is of pie. Some say pumpkin first, others say apple, but all can agree that it tastes like Thanksgiving! After tasting pumpkin pie, the spices reminded me of eggnog with the spices, followed by apple juice and molasses. Under everything lies the heat. The sweet scorching heat of the chocolate reaper has its hold on every flavor, but never overpowers. The finish on this fascinating sauce is like a spicy apple pie, sweet with cinnamon and spices and a tasty bite to leave the tongue excited.

Breakdown: This was a unique sauce with limited applications. It can complement just about every Thanksgiving dish, but it goes especially well on pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Hard to find additional use, but a fun one for the holiday. Give it a try on some pork if you don’t have a pumpkin pie available.
