SPITTERS ARE QUITTERS

MANGO HABANERO

The smell of pureed habanero attacks the nose with this sauce. It has a bite before even taking one, causing a bit of anxiety before even trying it. The tail end of this smell has a light vegetal scent of bell pepper and onion. The first taste is briefly of mango, sweet and seemingly refreshing, but a heavy hand of habanero kicks you in the teeth almost instantly. The second bite gives a quick taste of bell pepper and mild onion before the habanero takes over once again. A very light linger of apple cider vinegar and garlic are present once the heat subsides. This tastes as though I am snacking on a raw habanero stuffed with a mixture of bell pepper, mango, and onion. It is a good hot sauce that must be used sparingly in order to enjoy the flavors.

Breakdown: This tastes like straight blended habanero. It’s a little fruity with a face full of heat. It’s not too fruity, which is my usual complaint with Mango Habanero, but it might be a little too hot for its own good, losing a bit of flavor nuance in the process.
