HIGH DESERT MANGO HABENERO
Opening the bottle reveals a sweet vegetal smell, earthy with some faint heat. I removed the reducer from the top immediately, since this is a fairly thick sauce, almost like a puree, which does not require it. My first taste was of stewed tomatoes, completely throwing me off the traditional hunt for hot sauce ingredients. With a second taste, the tomato gives way to the fruity mango hiding and melting into the
sweet-spicy habanero finish. A very unique sauce, the star of the show would have to be the vegetal flavors with a mild sweetness to accompany. There is a mild linger after the fruit flavor subsites. This is a good sauce that needs a few bites to fully appreciate the flavors.
Breakdown: Didn’t think I was going to like this one. Bite 2 helped me understand the flavor. Bite 3 made me start to enjoy! Not for everyone, but very unique. The tomato threw me off, but it grew on me. Try this on chicken and pasta.
